Work continues after serious health problems
It was already apparent in the two decades before that the struggles of the previous project years were taking their toll. The problem: a thoroughly multi-talented and tireless artist with enormously high self-expectations and a self-imposed self-experiment of unconditional uncompromisingness towards success and “mental and spiritual corruption”, as he calls it, must at some point face physical exhaustion, which also has serious medical consequences.
We - the artists' office, which has accompanied him in his projects for many years - have rarely experienced an artist who keeps his word without complaint and always at the expense of his health and who rushes to help anyone who, as he says, “makes the world a better place”. Even for other artists. And he doesn't spare himself for his projects either. With serious health consequences.
While many well-known artists like to let others work for them and then reap the rewards, he is the first to come and the last to go. And in every area, he is the one who holds up the sail through storms and rain with competence and self-criticism without sparing himself. Whether on the film set, at theater or orchestra rehearsals, during project preparations or in weeks of studio nights. Whether at the microphone or behind the mixing and editing desk. And during months of work-related sleep deprivation, he is always ready to help her family and friends until the last waking minute.
The result: several burn-outs in a row over the last few years. As well as several unhealed serious medical diagnoses. And always with words of encouragement and a smile for others on his lips.
“So it could well be that his lifelong wish, which he already expressed when his first play was premiered in Paris (“The Triangle” - 1988), namely that in order to remain uncorruptible all his text works from his early youth to the present day, essays, plays, screenplays, poetry and novels should only be published after his death, could come true sooner than he would perhaps like” - we mischievously threw into the room. In the hope that our concern and simultaneous warning would be heard and that a break and medical care would be sought. And so, after serious signs in the summer, things came to a standstill.
After several stays in hospital over the summer and pending follow-up examinations, the artist is now gradually returning to theater and orchestra rehearsals. The paused filming is now also being rescheduled piece by piece and planned for the turn of the year. Unfortunately, after returning from hospital, the artist also had to experience a very serious loss in his immediate family. This hit him - whose lyrics deal a lot with the inevitable aspect of life - hard and caused him to sink into deep mourning. Out of decency and to protect the family, we do not wish to go into this any further at this time without his consent.
However, we are glad that the physical warning signals have finally been taken seriously and hope that we will hear, see and read a lot more from this extravagant and exceptional artist.
